Call for Graduate Student Commentators for the SPAN Annual Workshop

SPAN is in need of graduate student commentators for the four panels that will be held in conjunction with the annual SPAN Workshop, whose theme this year is “Stigma: Deviance, Criminality, and Sexualities.” The Workshop will take place on April 20th – 21st, with the keynote address taking place on that Thursday and the panels convening on that Friday.

The four panels, along with the names of the invited speakers, are:

  • “Data & Surveillance”
    • Toby Beauchamp, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
    • Kelly Gates, University of California, San Diego
  •  “Language & Stigmatized Sexualities”
    • Susan Ehrlich, York University
    • Rob Podesva, Stanford University
  • “Viscerality & Sensation”
    • Che Gossett, Rutgers University
    • Amber Musser, Washington University
  • “Sexual Labor & Embodiment”
    • Winifred Poster, Washington University
    • Gabriel Rosenberg, Duke University

The deadline to be considered is Friday, February 24th.
